Mother's Day 2008

Mother's Day was quite simple for us this year. We took our time waking up and getting ready and then headed to Busch Gardens for some carefree time on the rides. BG is one of our favorite places to go on the weekend, even if it's just for a couple of hours. Sometimes we go up and just go to the different shows, other times we go and play in Dragonland with Keke or jump from rollar coaster to rollar coaster with the boys. Fun outside in the fresh air, watching the kids laugh and be happy is the best gift of all for me.
The boys went Mother's Day shopping when I went shopping for my mom. Tyler used his gift card from Christmas to get me a Vera Bradley purse. He's such a generous young man. Then he got on our computer at home and made me a card. Nothing better than something made from scratch by your kiddo's! I am so very proud of all three of my sweeties! Now Grafton and Tyler probably don't want to be refered to as sweeties but that's life. I'm so very proud of the young men that they both are becoming. They both have been a godsend to me with Gary being gone. Grafton has really stepped up and is trying his hardest to be there whenever I need him. Their dad's best qualities have began to rub off on them and it warms my heart.
You all can probably imagine how stressful life has been here trying to get things done with the house, the boys school work and grades, putting together paperwork for our house purchase in KC and the list just never ends! I absolutely HATE moving and I'm praying that the next time (if there is another time) that we can stay together as a family and go through these struggles together as a husband and wife! LOL! And hear I thought we had left the military! LOL!
Happy Mother's Day to my mom and my much missed mother-in-law!

Blessing from above......

If there were ever any uncertainty in whether we should move or not, we have been shown time and time again that we are meant to be in Missouri. The Lord keeps recomfirming this fact for us......The kids and I flew out to KC to spend a week with Gary during my spring break. During this time we house hunted non-stop for 5 days. I know for certain that we looked at over 50 homes (both new builds and previously owned). The last night of our house hunting the realtor sent us and email about a house with a pool. Now you all know we LOVE our pool here in VA and even though it wasn't something we were looking for I just had to see this house. Gary wasn't interested AT ALL! He wanted to sit in the car while I went in to look, I convinced him to humor me and come inside with me. We both went in and looked around and the house was what we were looking for. The pool and jaccuzzi were nice additions but the house itself was amazing and we instantly knew that it was our new home.
We left the house and went to discuss financing. We were immediately approved for a loan and the Lord placed us in the office of the son of the man I had interviewed with earlier that morning. Gary and I joked with him that he should put a good word in with his dad so we could afford our house payments! LOL! But even then the Lord was working his magic. A very good friend, Michelle told me to just pray on it and the Lord will start closing the doors the we shouldn't go through and hold open those where He needs us to go. By gosh.....He's truly doing that!
Okay now fast forward a couple of weeks. We finally received our relocation package and chose a realtor. The realtor placed our house on the market at 11am on the 23rd of April. That evening I had Stanley Steamers coming to clean the carpets and the moving company was headed out to assess our household goods. At 4:39 my phone rang and it was our realtor, Mike. He said there was a family coming at 5pm for a showing.....YIKES!!!! I asked if he could post-pone it a little, the carpet cleaners had just began and the moving company hadn't shown up yet! Needless to say it was a hectic hour! As the cleaners came from the bedroom area the mover and I went back there to look at the rooms. While he was taking notes about our stuff I was trying to organize each room because everything was up of the floors! Well, we got it all taken care of and were headed out the door as the realtor was bringing the family in to see the house at 5:38! The kids and I ran to Micky D's and ate dinner (our dinner was in the oven we ate it the next night)! At 7:30 that night Mike called and I laughed at him when he asked if I was sitting down! He told me we had an offer! My heart literally stopped and my hands began to shake......Mike was talking about the offer and I had to tell him to stop because I couldn't focus on what he was saying! We countered their first offer and they accepted it. It's been 10 days and this was the ONLY phone call that we've had on our house! Things are moving along and we're getting very close to being in a ratified contract. There are just more steps when dealing with a relocation company. Our contract should be squared away by mid week coming up. The buyer's want to take possession on the 30th and the relo company will take possession on the 29th. We pack up on the 27th and load up on the 28th.
Just as things are wrapping up here, Gary has been busy taking care of the things for our new house in KC! The inspection came back okay. The radon levels were a bit high so the seller is installing a radon system to remove it from the house. We should be in a ratified contract out there this next week too!
We ALL are so very anxious to get out to KC and be a family under one roof again. Gary is bored out ther by himself and I'm stressing over being here and trying to get all this stuff taken care of, the kids miss being with their dad something terrible! Keke is doing much better than I expected she would but often asks when we're moving to be with daddy! Soon but not quite soon enough sweetie!
I want everyone to know just how thankful I am that my boys are as helpful as they are. Grafton has been a great help with taking care of the yard and Tyler is just fabulous with Keke (when he wants to be). I could not have completed the things they are done here if they weren't here to help me.....thanks guys I love and appreciate you both SO VERY much!

TTFN!
